GRACE YOUNG is a food writer and the author of The Wisdom of the Chinese Kitchen, which won the IACP International Cookbook Award. She has been featured on CBS Sunday Morning and has been a guest on numerous culinary shows on public television, The Discovery Channel, and on National Public Radio. She also lectures on Chinese foodways and culture and teaches cooking classes. For seventeen years Young was the test kitchen director and director for food photography for more than forty cookbooks published by Time-Life Books. She lives with her husband in New York City.

ALAN RICHARDSON is a photographer and designer. His photographs grace the pages of
numerous books, magazines, and journals including The New York Times Magazine, The Washington Post, Gourmet, Saveur, Food & Wine, Esquire, and Conde Nast Traveller. He was the recipient of the International Center of Photography Infinity Award for Design with
Photography. He is the co-author of The Four Seasons of Italian Cooking and is preparing a series of exhibitions entitled Travels With Food highlighting his culinary adventures around the world. He lives in New York City.
