This month’s issue of Saveur has my article on Leckerlee lebkuchen, the traditional German soft gingerbread. Until Sandy Lee started Leckerlee the only place I could buy handmade lebkuchen was Germany. It’s one of my favorite Christmas specialties, loaded with almonds, hazelnuts, honey, candied citron, and nine different spices–and then dipped in chocolate. If you live in New York, Leckerlee is selling in pop up stores and Christmas markets around the city.
